Company Profile: The Salon Channel

Airplay America began operations in March of 2004 as a “private radio network” for chain stores in the hair salon industry. Six months into a successful 15-store pilot we quickly learned that narrowcasting, a.k.a. digital signage, would be the medium of choice for retailers and advertisers alike. As such we concluded our pilot and went into a think-tank for the development of a private video network called “The Salon Channel”.

The Salon Channel replaces conventional radio demanding that Airplay America build a “wheel” of frequently updated content that salon clientele and store employees enjoy and embrace. With the help of leading content providers such as CBS, PLR, VFN, TVSCO and others we have developed a hybrid blend of music, entertainment, lifestyle programming and style editorials that is continuously updated and enhanced.
